Sheila Engelmeier is co-producer and subject matter expert for
Creating the Respect Effect. She is an accomplished attorney with
extensive experience in the area of employment law. She has handled
the full panoply of employment litigation matters, from non-competes
to discrimination and sexual harassment cases. In addition to
Sheila's experience both in administrative tribunals and in court
handling disputes about everything from hiring to firing, she
assists companies in developing effective harassment policies,
selection and performance management programs. She has drafted,
revised and consulted on literally hundreds of employment policies.
As a
result of her comprehensive experience, Sheila has become a leader
in the field on issues such as discrimination, harassment and
violence both in and outside the workplace, as well as employers'
obligations relating to such conduct when it occurs in the
workplace. She devotes a significant amount of time to on-site
training, policy writing and speaking on these issues. She has also
developed and facilitated numerous training programs on a variety of
workplace issues such as diversity, avoiding harassment and
discrimination and dealing with the disabled worker. Employers
regularly ask Sheila to train both managers and employees. The
Creating the Respect Effect program is the culmination of her years
of successful work in this field.
Sheila has been named a "Super Lawyer" on several
occasions, a "Top 50 Woman Super Lawyer" and "Top 40 Employment
Super Lawyer" by Minnesota Law & Politics, and was selected by the
Business Journal as a "Woman to Watch" in the Twin Cities' business
community.
